Cooktop error codes
Cooktop fault codes documented for Whirlpool-family brands. Where one code has more than one meaning, each is listed with the appliance type it applies to.
| Code | Meaning | Appliance | Brand pages |
|---|---|---|---|
| F0E1 | Cookware not compatible F0E1 means the induction cooktop sensed a pan on the zone but the pan is not suitable for the operation requested, or it is not positioned correctly. | Cooktop | Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir |
| F0E2 | Main relay stuck closed F0E2 means the induction power board detected that its main relay is stuck in the closed (on) position and cannot open. | Cooktop | Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir |
| F0E4 | Induction coil not drawing current F0E4 means the induction power board drew less current than expected when it tried to heat a zone, which the documentation links to a coil that is not connected. | Cooktop | Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir |
| F0E6 | Product supply error F0E6 means the induction power board found a problem with its electrical supply, such as the line frequency, or its internal DC voltage being too low, too high or… | Cooktop | Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir |
| F0E7 | Wrong power connection F0E7 means the induction cooktop detected that its power supply is not connected the way the installation instructions require. | Cooktop | Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir |
| F0E8 | Power board configuration error F0E8 means the induction power board's configuration does not match the cooktop model, which the documentation links to a replacement board that was not configured. | Cooktop | Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir |
| F0E9 | Coil temperature sensor failure F0E9 means the induction cooktop detected a problem with a coil temperature sensor: an over-temperature reading, or the sensor open, shorted or stuck. | Cooktop | Whirlpool, JennAir |
| F0E9 | Electronics too hot F0E9 means the induction cooktop switched its controls off because the internal electronics became too hot. | Cooktop | Whirlpool, JennAir |
| F0EA | Overheated or coil sensor shorted F0EA means the induction cooktop switched off because its electronics got too hot, or because a coil temperature sensor reads as shorted. | Cooktop | Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir |
| F0EC | Coil temperature sensor open F0EC means the induction cooktop reads a coil temperature sensor as open, so it cannot monitor that coil's temperature. | Cooktop | Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir |
| F1E0 | User interface fault or model mismatch F1E0 means the cooktop's user interface (touch control) board reported a fault, or the model setting stored in the system does not match. | Cooktop | Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir |
| F1E1 | Appliance manager or expansion board fault F1E1 means one of the cooktop's power control boards (appliance manager or expansion board) reported an internal fault, such as welded relay contacts. | Cooktop | Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir |
| F1E1 | Inverter self-check failure F1E1 means the induction power board failed one of its inverter self-checks, such as an unexpected power output, a shorted pin, a stuck sensor or a gate-driver fault. | Cooktop | Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir |
| F2E1 | Stuck or shorted keypad F2E1 means the cooktop control saw a touch key held active for too long, which it treats as a stuck or shorted key. | Cooktop | Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir |
| F6E0 | User interface lost contact F6E0 means the cooktop's power boards lost communication with the user interface (touch control) board. | Cooktop | Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir |
| F6E1 | Communication error F6E1 means the induction power board and the user interface stopped communicating correctly. | Cooktop | Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir |
| F6E4 | Panel and power board out of sync F6E4 means the touch control and the power control board (appliance manager) disagree about the cooktop's operating state. | Cooktop | Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir |
| F6E6 | Lost communication with power board 1 F6E6 means the cooktop lost communication with its first power control board (appliance manager 1). | Cooktop | Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir |
| F6E9 | Lost communication with power board 2 F6E9 means the cooktop lost communication with its second power control board (appliance manager 2, the expansion board). | Cooktop | Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir |
| F6EA | User interface over temperature F6EA means the temperature sensor on the cooktop's user interface board reads too hot. | Cooktop | Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir |
| F7E5 | Cooling fan speed error F7E5 means the induction cooktop's cooling fan is not turning at the expected speed, as if it were clogged or blocked. | Cooktop | Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir |
| F9E0 | Product miswired F9E0 means the cooktop detected that its power supply is wired incorrectly, such as neutral swapped with one of the hot lines. | Cooktop | Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir |
| F9E0 | Power board configuration error F9E0 means the induction power board's configuration does not match the cooktop, which the documentation links to a replacement board that was not configured. | Cooktop | Whirlpool, JennAir |
